Operating principles
Two operating principles guide Québec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP)
funding :
- Guarantee the security of benefits and ensure proper QPIP funding
- Ensure QPIP self-financing through premiums and investment income
The Conseil must identify funding scenarios that take into account the QPIP’s operating environment and then check them and make any necessary adjustments.
A financial policy determines the orientations and the principles that are the basis for the plan’s financial decisions. The Board of Directors should adopt this policy by 2011.
