We invite you to read our policy regarding confidentiality.As soon as you click on a link and leave the Québec government’s virtual space, the information exchanged there after is not subject to the privacy policies of Québec government sites, but to those of the private site. Use of Cookies

The Conseil de gestion de l’assurance parentale site places a permanent cookie in our visitor’s computer hard drive to enable it to preserve parameters on text size.

However, these cookies do not transmit personal information, nor do they enable us to identify you personally. Current technology used in navigating the Internet requires the information collected, which is used for statistical purposes.

Information transmitted automatically

You should be aware that, as soon as you access the site of the Conseil de gestion de l’assurance parentale, information is automatically exchanged between your computer and the Conseil de gestion de l’assurance parentale server, without your intervention. The Conseil de gestion de l’assurance parentale keeps the required information in order to have a record of the number of visitors, the pages visited most often, the technology used by the site's clientele, the referral sites and the countries of origin of visitors to the site.

We would remind you that emailed information is not fully secure. This is why we do not recommend that you send personal information, such as your social insurance number, by email. Similarly, we do not use email to answer your questions requiring transmission of confidential information.

Use of Google Analytics

The Conseil de gestion de l'assurance parentale site uses Google Analytics, a website analysis tool provided by Google.

Using cookies, Google Analytics collects information about your visit to the section, for example concerning the pages you view, the date and time of your visit and the links you click. It also collects information on your device’s operating system, your browser’s language setting, the name of your Internet service provider and your geographic location. The data collected and your anonymized (shortened) IP address are stored by Google on servers located mainly in the United States. Google uses the information solely to produce statistics and reports on browsing in the website.

Google can disclose this data to third parties if legally obliged to do so or for processing by third parties at Google’s request. Google will not link your IP address to any other data it retains.

Google Analytics is not used on our secured sites. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on on your device to prevent Google Analytics from recording data on your visits.

If you transmit personal information to us

In accordance with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information , a department or agency requesting you to provide personal information must be sure that it needs the information (section 64), must identify itself and must inform you (quoted from section 65) of the following:

  • The name and address of the public body on whose behalf the information is being collected;
  • The use to which the information will be put;
  • The categories of persons who will have access to the information;
  • Whether a reply is obligatory or optional;
  • The consequences if the person concerned or the third party does not reply;
  • The rights of access and correction provided by law.

If you decide to send us personal information - by e-mail or by filling in a form and submitting it through our site—we will use only the information we require to answer your message and to follow up on it. Electronic messages are treated as confidentially as regular mail.

The personal information transmitted is not disclosed to any other government body unless your request is addressed to it or disclosure is required by law. In no case is the information transmitted used to draw up a profile of users or communicated to a private organization.
